Senior Citizens Legal Services has several positions for pre-law students, 1L law students, and 2L law students.
If you are interested in applying, please take the following actions:
1) Download and complete the Internship Application Form
2) Draft a cover letter briefly expressing your interest
3) Prepare a résumé and writing sample
4) Email application, cover letter, and resume to firstname.lastname@example.org
These internships take place throughout the year. We routinely have several students from UCSC during the school year. In the pre-law internship you’ll be exposed to most of the same situations as the 1L internship but at an appropriate level.
1L / 2L Summer Internship
During your 1L/2L summer internship you’ll have the opportunity to work one-on-one with a practicing staff attorney. Previous 1L internship duties have included: drafting complaints, drafting memos and briefs, administrative tasks behind litigation (e.g. serving, filing, client intake, etc.), and legal research on Westlaw and other resources.
